About the Journal

Publication Charge: Frontiers in Research maintains different APC policies for researchers. All articles in these journals are published under the Gold Open Access model. APCs, where applicable, cover the costs of peer review, copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, and journal management. This ensures free access for readers.

To ensure the provision of a high-quality publishing service and free access for readers, authors of manuscripts accepted by Frontiers in Research are required to pay a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) of 60 Euro. This charge is only applicable to accepted manuscripts; there is no fee for submissions or for manuscripts that are rejected. Frontiers in Research offers a 50% discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) for corresponding authors from the countries listed below. With this discount applied, the final APC is set at 30 Euro.

* Prices exclude VAT, GST, or other sales taxes. Applicable taxes may be added where required by law, calculated at the point of sale and itemized separately. Please provide your tax identification number when requested.

Authors are not required to pay any fees upon submission of their manuscripts. The APC is only payable if the manuscript is accepted for publication following a peer-review process. Once a manuscript is editorially accepted, payment information on payment method will be provided to the corresponding author.

Typically, articles are around 8,000 words in length. Additional charges may apply for articles that significantly exceed this word count. There are no extra charges based on the type of article; however, if there are numerous tables, figures, or supplementary data, additional charges may apply. Editorial items such as Editorials, Corrections, Additions, Retractions, Letters, and Comments are published free of charge.

Publication Language: Frontiers in Research accepts manuscripts in English, Spanish, and French. Authors could use either for their manuscript; however, one language should be used consistently throughout the manuscript.

Publication Frequency: Frontiers in Research is published monthly, with a total of 12 issues per year.

Publication and Evaluation Process: Manuscripts submitted to the journal are reviewed by two researchers through a double-blind peer-review process. The decision to publish or not publish a manuscript is based on the reviewers' evaluation reports. The entire process, from submission to publication, typically takes approximately 3-4 months
